Joyce (King) Tilley, of Nixa, MO, passed away on Tuesday, Sept 22, 2020, at Cox South in Springfield, MO. Joyce was born July 5, 1944, in St Louis, MO, to the late Clyde and Alidene (Weston) King.
She was united in marriage to Jimmie E. Tilley on July 9, 1962, and they enjoyed 58 years together. They enjoyed years of travel with the military and were able to see much of the world together. To this marriage were born their three girls who survive; Cyndi (James) Chronister, of Perrryville, MO, Marcia (Tim) Sitze of GlenAllen, MO and Connie (Dan) Simmons of Nixa, MO. She is survived by six grandchildren; Corey & Adam Sitze, Thomas Marks, and Shaelyn, Mason & Delaney Simmons. Also surviving are four great-grandchildren, Isiah & Carson Sitze and Maggie & Ella Marks. Her brother, Jerry (Carol) King of Cedar Hill, MO, also survives along with many nieces and nephews. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Phillip, Charles & Larry King, step-son, Jimmie Edward Tilley, Jr, and grandson, Caden Simmons.
Since 1975 Joyce was a resident of Glen Allen, but relocated to Nixa in 2019. She was a positive and joyful light to many, always quick to offer a hug, a smile, and share her contagious laugh. She loved to cook, entertain, and sharing her talent of painting with others. Joyce worked as both a beautician and secretary before fulfilling her most prized work as a homemaker. She had such a strong connection to her Lord and truly looked forward to Heaven, often talking about how wonderful that homecoming would be. Her presence will be greatly missed, but we celebrate her presence with her Lord & Savior forever.
Visitation will be at Hutchings Funeral Chapel on Friday, Sept. 25, 2020,, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2020, at the funeral home. Rev. Elijah Allen will officiate. Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. in Shepherd Hills Cemetery at Barnhart, Mo.
