John Stanley Duncan, Age: 83, of Glen Allen, MO died on Monday, January 10, 2022 at Stonebridge Senior Living of natural causes.
He was born on February 15, 1938 in Lilbourn, MO, to Esthel McKinley (E. M.) and Glenna (Guiling) Duncan.
In 1984 Stanley married Wanda (Weakley) Anderson from Glenallen and she survives.
Stanley was a 1951 graduate of Morley High School. He received a degree in auctioneering from Reisch Auctioneer School in Mason City, IN in 1951 and started his Auctioneering career with Harry “Joker” Warren, Jr, owner of the Charleston Auction Company. He mostly did livestock auctions for the West Memphis Stockyards, Horse Auctions for Farmington Auction Company while it was owned by Joe Swink. He also worked for other Livestock Auction Companies in Missouri, Arkansas, and Tennessee. He served in the Army National Guard from 1956-63 and was the Honor Guard for President Harry S Truman during his Missouri visit. He left the Army National Guard in 1963 with the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was a member of the Sikeston JC’s and helped with the Sikeston Rodeo until moving to Oak Ridge. He loved cutting horses and showed them in competition for several years. He and his father owned/operated several farms in Cape & Scott Counties raising Angus cattle and row crops until his father’s death in 1986. The family also owned/operated the Advance John Deere Dealership until it was destroyed by fire. Stanley spent the last years of his career as an over-the-road Truck Driver until his retirement in 2007. During his retirement he was the owner/operator of Little Folks Horse Farm in Glenallen raising/selling miniature horses and showing them in parades.
Besides his wife of 37 years survivors include two sons, Tim (Lisa) Duncan of Buchanan, TN, James (Gayla Franklin) Duncan of Broseley, MO, Daughter, Khrystina (Chad) Davidson of Jackson, MO. GrandChildren Johnathan Duncan, Lane Duncan, Maxwell Davidson, Kyle (Kat) Erwin, Krystal (Jared) Hueckel. GreatGrandChildren: Breagan & Blake Erwin, Luke & Laney Hueckel, & Harrison Duncan. Brother: Harlan Duncan of Benton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, E. M. and Glenna (Guiling) Duncan
Viewing will start at 11:00 AM at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill, Mo., followed by the Funeral Service at 1:00 PM, Thursday, January 13, 2022. The Rev. Bill McCormick will officiate. Burial will be at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
