Gale McCoy Francis, 86, of Glenallen, Mo., went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, Feb 27, 2021, surrounded by his family. Born on March 12, 1934, in Grassy, Mo., Gale was the son of Henry Coy and Beulah Smith Francis. On June 12, 1954, he married the love of his life, Marlene Sitze. She survives.
Gale worked for 16 years at McDonald Douglas before returning to the family farm in 1970. While raising cattle and crops, he and Marlene operated Twin Bridges campground from 1979-2000. Gale was known for his willingness to help anyone in need, for his big, strong hands, and for the love he had for his family. He loved and was loved by many and will be missed by his family. But they rejoice in knowing he is at the feet of Jesus, waiting for them.
He is survived by his wife, Marlene; two sons: Mark (Tracy) Francis of Richland, Texas, and Matt (Danielle) Francis of Glenallen; a daughter, Sharon (Ken) Simmons of Glenallen; a brother, Kelly (Wanda) Francis of Marble Hill; a sister, Becky Douglas, of Kirkwood, Mo; a brother-in-law, Harold Sitze of Glenallen; a granddaughter, Jodi (Donnie) Long; five grandsons: Justin Simmons, Lucas (Jenna) Simmons, Jonathan, Noah , and Jake Francis; and seven great-grandchildren: Chloe, Mattie, Ellie, Abbigail, Garret, and Kenli Simmons, and Lucas Francis. He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Boyer, a brother, Kenny Francis, and his parents.
Visitation and funeral services will be on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill, Mo. visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. and continue until service time. Funeral services will be held at Noon with Kelly Francis and Kenny Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in McGee Chapel Cemetery near Glenallen.
