Dorma Jean Sturgeon
Was born in rural Bollinger County, Mo., near Glen Allen, on October 13, 1948. She died at Malden Nursing and Rehab Center in Malden, Mo., on March 16, 2020. She was 71 years, five months, and 3 days of age.
She was one of seven children of Raymond and Lula Angle Sturgeon. In 1967 she graduated from Zalma High School. The following years were spent working at the Marble Hill Hat Factory. She and Zane Corbin were special friends. He preceded her in death.
She was a member of Pleasant Valley General Baptist Church from 1970-1985. Later she attended Brush Creek Church. Many remember her letter writing, and how well she tended to her home.
She is survived by one brother: Bob Sturgeon, of Advance, Mo.; by three sisters: Sandy Woodfin of Marble Hill, Cathy Clayton of Florida, and Shirley Grubbs of Dexter, Mo; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, a brother, Ed Sturgeon, and a young sister, Peggy Sturgeon. Many others will mourn her passing.
