Darrell Gene Masters, Sr., 81, of Marble Hill, Mo., died June 24, 2022, at his home.
Born in Lutesville, Mo., on August 24, 1940, he was the son of Manuel Floyd and Reba Lucille Cooper Masters.
He married Wanda Henry in 2005. She survives.
Darrell was a retiree of the US Army Missouri National Guard. He spent almost 30 years in combat engineering specializing in mechanics. He worked as a log truck driver for B&B Timber and repaired small engines at a home shop. Other interests centered around his farm. He enjoyed cutting wood, hay mowing, and hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Masters, of Sedgewickville, Mo.; a son, Darren F. (Charlotte) Masters of Oklahoma; a daughter, Rhonda L. (Chuck) Wilson of Oak Ridge, Mo.; three step-children: Scott and Brad Baker and Tora Hudgins; two grandsons, David Masters and Alex Seiler; five granddaughters: Ashley Howard, Allyson Sessions, Veronica Carver, Samantha Baker, and Dara Masters; a brother, Rick (Linda) Masters; and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Darrell “Reb” Masters, two brothers: Garry Masters and Joe Masters, by a great-granddaughter, and his parents.
Visitation and services will be on Thursday, June 30, 2022, at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill.
Visitation will be from 4:00 until service time at 6:00 p.m.
A military honors service will be conducted at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield, Mo., at a future date.
