Brenda Joyce (Shell) VanGennip

Obituary

Brenda Joyce VanGennip, 80, of Marble Hill, Missouri, passed away May 20, 2022, at her home.  Brenda was born August 4, 1941, the daughter of the late Norman and Rita (Sample) Shell.

On June 3, 1961, at Dongola Church, Brenda married Lewis Edwin “Beaver” VanGennip. Of this marriage they had two children: Richard and Elizabeth VanGennip.

 Brenda enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers, watching Bob Ross and painting. Brenda was also a graduate of Advance High School, in Advance, Missouri.

Survivors include: her husband, Lewis “Beaver” VanGennip; a son: Richard VanGennip; a daughter: Elizabeth “Sissy” VanGennip, all of Marble Hill, Missouri; one sister: Carol Costello, four grandchildren: Alex VanGennip, Cara Briner, Scott Crader, Shanna Chapman and 12 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers: Grant Shell, Bob Shell, Birk Shell and Eugene Shell; six sisters: Mary Lou Whinchester, Norma Parker, JoAnn Kirkpatrick, Charleen King, Velma Bess and Barbara Juden.

Visitation will be held Sunday, May 22, 2022 at Hutchings Funeral Chapel from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 P.M. Burial will follow at Baker Cemetery in Marble Hill, Missouri.
