Tom Conder of Poplar Bluff, formerly of Grassy, Mo., passed away at his home Jan. 4, 2010. He was born near Zalma on April 11, 1938, the son of Sampson Conder and Glenda Randolph Conder Hood.

He married Lorene Withrow Story on Aug. 16, 1980, at Poplar Bluff. He retired as a Yard Foreman for a lumber company in Lodi, Mo.

Besides his wife he is survived by stepchildren, Gary Wright, Donna Crowley, and Doug Ward all of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Stanley Wright of Mikanda, Ill., Pamela Fox of Bull Shoals, Ark. and Lester Story of Williamsville, Mo.; a brother, Trennis Conder of Gipsy, Mo. and Evelyn Conder of Scott City, Mo., six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. A brother, Benny Conder, precede him in death.

Visitation will be Tues from 6 to 9 p.m. at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial at Ham Town Cemetery near Wappapello.
