She had served as an alderwoman with the city of Marble Hill, and she owned B Annie's Flowers and Gifts in Marble Hill for two years before her illness.

Besides her husband, she is survived by five children: Joshua (Libby) Johnson of Cape Girardeau, Mo., Emily (Packy) Johnson of Sedgwickville, Mo, Katie (Travis) Blanton of Jackson, Luke (Lotte) Johnson of Glen Allen, Mo. and Lauren (Boone) Gaines of Marble Hill; her father, Norman VanGennip of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Cathy Prost of Cape Giardeau; and 14 grandchildren.
