William Edmund Freiheit, 83, of Cape Girardeau, Mo., formerly of Marble Hill, Mo., died on July 11, 2019, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
Born on June 30, 1936, in Meriden, Connecticut, he was the son of Edmund and Bertha Witzka Freiheit. He married Ann Cory on June 15, 1960. She preceded him in death on May 31, 2014. Together they worked for 28 years as missionaries for Child Evangelism Fellowship. He served in Micronesia and Guam, and many missions in the United States.
He was a veteran of the United States Army.
Survivors include two sons: Paul Freiheit of Fredericktown, Mo., and Mark Freiheit of Glenallen, Mo; two daughters, Ruth Freiheit of Glen Allen and Julie Penner of Louisville, KY; a brother Edward Freiheit of Meriden, CT; 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Visitation and funeral service will be on Monday, July 15, 2017, at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill.
Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. and continue until service time at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Ray Meek will officiate. Burial will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield, Mo.at 1:00 p.m.
