Ronald Edward Parker, 80, of Cape Girardeau, Mo., formerly of Leopold Mo., died at his home on April 8, 2019. Born in Fornfelt, Mo., on Nov. 7, 1938, he was the son of Verlon E and Alberta Wright Parker.
He and Norma Jean Beussink were married on Nov. 15, 1958 and celebrated 60 years together last November. She survives.
He worked in marketing and sales for various companies. He was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church and a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus. He served in the Marines and was a member of the Marine Corps League Cpl Mason O Yarbrough Detachment 1081.
Besides his wife survivors include four sons: Gregory (Cinda) Parker of Maitland, FL, Stephen Parker of Wilmington, NC, Ronald Parker and Mark (Jennifer) Parker both of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Lynn (Harry) Davis of Ste. Genevieve, Mo; a brother, Verlon D. Parker; 10 grandchildren: Ashleigh (James) Graber of New York, NY, Mitchell Davis of Barcelona Spain, H Parker Davis of Portland, Or, Jarrod Davis of Ste. Genevieve, MO,Jameson Parker of Maitland FL, Katelyn (Ben) Snuford of Raleigh NC, Zachary, Nicholas, and Alyssa Parker all of Wilmington, NC, and Tyler Parker of Cape Girardeau, Mo; and two great grandchildren: Davis Graber and Greyson Graber. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and three sisters.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 10, 2019, from 9:00 am until service time at St. John Catholic Church in Leopold. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. with the Revs. William Hennecke and David Coon officiating. Burial will
follow with military honors in St. John's Cemetery. Hutchings Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
