Mark Allen Yount
was born near Bessville, Missouri, on August 31, 1955, the son of Dale Kenneth and Nellie Ruth James Yount.
He departed earthly life unexpectedly on Sept 28, 2018, at his home near Marquand, Missouri.
Mark grew up in the hills and woods around Bessville.
At an early age he worked with his dad in the log woods.
Operating a sawmill and logging became his life’s work.
He loved to hunt and fish, raising coon hounds and rabbit dogs. A good story and much teasing was in his personality.
He was an enthusiastic dancer and riding horses added to
being on the move. As he slowed down with age, he raised a big vegetable garden and supplied the neighborhood with eggs from the chickens he kept.
He is survived by his best buddy and son, Michael Yount and
by his life companion, Burnetta Mills, both of Marquand, Mo.
He is also survived by five sisters: Dorothy (Wallace) Stewart of Patton, Mo., Barbara (Larry) Wagganer, and Rose (Harry) Wagganer, both of Fredericktown, Mo., Brenda Reagan and Margaret (Jim) Evans, both of Marble Hill, Mo.; a sister in law, Glenda Yount of Patton; two brothers: Larry (Diane) Yount and Lonnie (Cindy) Yount, both of Marble Hill. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Roger and Kenneth, a sister, Connie, and his parents.
Visitation will be on Monday, Oct. 1, 2018, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral chapel. Rev. Jamie Hovis will officiate. Burial will follow in Union Light Cemetery near Marquand.
